How to use the scientific calculator
Talverlator’s calculator is a full scientific pad that runs entirely in your browser. Use it for everyday arithmetic, trigonometry, powers, roots, factorials, permutations, and combinations—then keep the full formula on screen after you press equals so you can check your work.
Basic arithmetic
Tap digits to enter a number, then choose +, −, ×, or ÷ and enter the next value. Press = to evaluate. After equals, the expression stays visible (for example 5 + 3 =) so you can confirm the formula, not only the result.
Use backspace to delete the last digit, C to clear after confirming, and parentheses to control order of operations.
Scientific functions and angle modes
Scientific keys cover sin, cos, tan and their inverses, logarithms, natural log, powers, roots, factorial, π, and e. Angle mode cycles DEG → RAD → GRAD so trig functions match how you measure angles. Permutations (nPr) and combinations (nCr) help with counting problems.
Graph mode
Open Graph to plot expressions and explore how values change. All calculation happens on your device.
Examples
Right-triangle sine. Set DEG mode. Enter sin(30) and press =. You should get 0.5.
Combinations. To choose 3 items from 10 when order does not matter, compute 10 nCr 3.
FAQ
Does the calculator work offline? Yes, after you open Talverlator once online so the app can cache.
